The students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy belong to student societies and unions, so that such organizations function in each faculty. The student organizations from Iasi and those from other university centers in the country are in close contact and student exchanges are taking place on a regular basis.

Regarding the professional level, each society organizes periodic scientific presentation sessions and its members participate in scientific events in Romania and abroad.

Also, they take an active part in campaigns promoting public health issues in high schools, such as rejecting smoking and preventing the spreading of sexually transmitted diseases.
Our students have the possibility to participate in the decision making process that allows the management of the university to be precise and effective.

According to the University Chart, the students form a maximum of 25% of each Faculty Council. These students function as representatives of the student body and are elected by their peers, a major criterion in the electoral process being the scholarly performance of the candidates. Each year of study has at least one representative and the elections take place every year.

Also, the students have 14 representatives in the Senate of the University, so that all the faculties can send delegates to speak for the interests of their respective student bodies. The honorary Vice-President, elected by the students from among the student members of the Senate, has the duty to represent the student body and to communicate their problems to the managerial team of the university.

Furthermore, the Senate decided that students from the terminal years are allowed to teach students belonging to the first years of study. Under the guidance of the teaching staff, these honorary teaching assistants can put to test their didactic strain.

In addition, the student hostels are managed by student committees, elected by students themselves. The members of the committees organize the accommodation of their fellow students and decide the way in which the funds raised will be used.

In their spare time, our students participate in cultural activities, discussing literature, listening and commenting on music, or organize sports events, including chess and soccer competitions.

Every year they take an active part in the Festudis student festival. Regarded as a barometer of student life, the comic group The Syringe, whose actors are all students, presents in a satirical light the ups and downs of an existence unfolding among the members of the student and medical community.
